A Blessing of Friendship: An Early Christmas Gift

I actually do not know to to start and end this blog post but the only reason why I want to finish writing this one is to convey my gratitude to the couple who have blessed our family particularly my father's life. I wish I could name them through this post but I was told to never mention their names as they wanted to keep their good doings a secret to everyone even to their immediate family.

Enjoying his grandchildren...

As you all know, my father was hospitalized earlier this year and it took us a fortune to sustain his  expenses and to keep him alive to this day. We did not come from a well-off family although we try to live as modest and as comfortable as we can so we are not prepared for a situation like this - emotionally and financially. So despite the family's effort to provide all the needed money to fund his surgery, what we have gathered that time was  not enough to pay for the hospital and other medical needs.

My sister has initiated to ask assistance from friends and relatives hoping to add more to our funds. We are just blessed that some of them has big hearts and generous enough to support us with this challenge but among all of them, this couple has never hesitated to help us not just financially but emotionally as well as they never failed to check on us despite the distance. It made us feel like we are more than a family to them and their  gesture even inspired Papa to get well as soon as he can.

A meek smile on my father's face. Taken last last Sept. 2012.

Ten months after undergoing a major surgery on his abdomen, my father is now recuperating and almost back to his normal health. He said that the surgery even made him healthier and it was never possible without out the help of this couple friend of ours. Although we are constantly thinking about the possibility of paying back what we owed them during my father's hospitalization, we can't seem to gather the needed amount since we are also experiencing financial challenges here and there. My sister and I have decided to pay what we can this coming December.

But just this morning, this friend has informed me that we don't need to pay the amount that we owed them last time. They want to give it as a help to my father. I really don't know what to react or what to say! I feel like crying because I couldn't believe that they will do it the second time around. I even insisted to settle our obligation this December but this friend was more insistent about this too. Aside from being grateful, I am really so ashamed because this was not the first time that they did this favor to us.

Although a little ashamed, my father was so happy upon knowing it. He said it was the best Christmas gift that he ever received in his entire life. I don't know what we have done to receive this kind of blessing. I am not talking about the monetary blessing from this friend but about the blessing of friendship. Our life has been blessed and touched with the big hearts and generosity of this couple. God is so good to us for making us met this kind of people. God is good all the time!

Thank you very much for being so kind and generous our dearest C&T. My father's life is a greatest  gift to us especially to his grandchildren and we thank you for your great help in making that happen. We will forever be grateful for what you have done for our family and we pray that the Lord will continue to bless you and your family so that you may continue to be a blessing to others as well.

Thank you Lord for the blessing of friendship and this early Christmas gift through this generous and humble couple. Life is so amazing having people like these as friends. I wish to honor this couple through this blog post. This is my own way of saying thank you and for showing how grateful I am for all the things you have done for us.

Rovs, do you believe in the biblical saying 'what you sow is what you reap'. You and your family, are God-fearing individuals so God had send angels para tugunan ang pangangailangan nyo. Happy to see your dad is healthy na. Parang kasing age ko lang siya.
