2 of 100 Happy Days: Sharing Healthy Meal with a Good Friend

A day after my birthday, my good friend Julius came to visit because he wasn’t able to come on my birthday dinner. I am grateful for true friends who are always there for me especially those who spend time to come and see me regardless of their busy schedule. Aside from family, I always consider my friends as my true and priceless treasure. And this visit made me very happy and it really means a lot to me.

2/100: Sharing a healthy meal with a good friend and with this little lady. #100happydays #blessed #grateful

Since I didn’t have a lot of visitors during the birthday dinner, we still have some leftover food from last night and most of them are tropical fruits so I decided to prepare tropical fruit salad for our merienda.

This yummy and super creamy frozen durian was brought on the night of my birthday by another good friend,  Karen. They're too plenty we could not consume them all at once after the dinner, so together with Julius and Exper plus Macky, we devoured all these the day after. Sooo yummy!!!

It really feels so right eating healthy and delicious food and it is made even better sharing it with people who matters. Thank you for  a great time Juls!

Starting My 100 Happy Days Journey

If you are into Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) you may keep on seeing the hash tag #100HappyDays used by many. I actually didn’t mind it at first thinking that it was just one of the ordinary hash tags that are usually used by social media enthusiasts but I got curious when some of my friends started using it so I researched and decided to jump in to document  and share my happy moments for 100 days in a row.

What is 100 Happy Days?

The 100 Happy Days challenge was launched last December 30 by Dmitry Golubnichy from Switzerland. He believes that being happy is a choice and we can be happy by appreciating simple things that we see every day. This challenge aims to remind people how beautiful life is. To join and be counted, all you have to do is take a photo of a thing, person, event or whatever it is that makes you happy for the day (for 100 days) then share it in your preferred social media platform and use the #100happydays hash tag when sharing.

As of this writing, 71% of those who participated failed or didn't finish or continue the challenge due to time constraints which simply means that they don't have time to be happy according to the website. :(

If you wish to take on this challenge, check out the 100 Happy Days website to register.

My 100 Happy Days Journey

As a birthday gift to myself, I decided to take on this journey. I've  been planning for this days ago and I am so excited to kick this off today. Why start on my birthday when I can start my journey any time, any day? My answer would be because I don’t want to lose count since 100 days is 100 days and it means more than 3 months and to me it’s a bit tough to cope up for such long period of time. So if I'm lost or confuse, I can always count back from the day of my birthday. LOL.

First Entry for this Challenge

In the website, you will be asked as to what social media platform you will use in submitting your photos. Although I am using several platforms, I chose Instagram as the official platform for my photos. Please follow me @awesomerovie to keep track of my 100 happy days challenge. Expect more photos of my little one and/or my husband as they are the reasons why am happy and blessed every single day.

1/100: Birthday Cake. A special gift all the way from Aussie.  #100HappyDays #blessed #birthday #friendship

My first entry is a birthday cake given as a gift by a dear blogger friend from Australia. Thank you very much Teh Lainy for giving me a reason to celebrate my special day.

And because of the birthday cake, I was given no choice but to prepare a simple dinner on my birthday. Hehehe. Thank you to my friend Exper and to our in-house Chef (my father) for helping me prepare all these food. Mudra, I miss you in times like these!

Aside from Exper who are living next door, Karen, Ashna and Majes were also present to celebrate my special day. I am so blessed to have a few but really good friends!

Thank you very much for making my birthday extra special. The celebration may be simple but you made it extraordinary with your presence. Thank you guys!

I will also be sharing my happy journey on this blog and in my other blogs as well so please stay tuned as I am determined to be happy for 100 days and beyond.

Aldo and Alda

If you have read my post about Tommy's birthday presents to Bren, then you would  have heard about  Aldo. And now, I want you to meet Aldo, Bren's little baby aside from Bella but definitely not Bella's brother or whatever lol. Aldo and Alda are actually one of the symbols of Bren and Tommy's friendship.

Aldo sitting comfortably at the backseat...
I really don't understand why Bren bought Aldo in the first place although he said that Aldo is  unique. He bought Aldo in a mall when he attended a seminar in Manila last 2010. We gave him the name Aldo from Bren's first name Romualdo. After Aldo, there's  Romy also a mechanical orangutan toy from Tommy but due to his cuteness and walking talent, he's nowhere to be found courtesy of either Bella or Yoshi. Bren, was actually furios upon knowing it but what can he do? Babies love to play with toys =).

And now again, Tommy gave Aldo another sister whom we called Alda. Aldo and Alda are now Bren's companion inside his car which also has a name. Just don't mind the car's name but for now, I would leave you with Aldo and Alda to look after while I am away. I still need to attend to my father's needs in the hospital for the next few days.

Bye for now. See you all soon.  Hugs!

Birthday Presents from Tommy

Bren celebrated his 40th birthday surrounded by friends and family who loved him dearly. His big day was made even special by Tommy who gave him a bottle of Tanduay Rum (their nightly buddy), an ID holder with special print which I like the most and a stuff toy (pink little monkey) whom we called Alda in which Bella get to hold first. Alda  has now  become Aldo's adopted  little sister. Wondering who Aldo is?

By the way, here's what Tommy have for  Bren as presents on his special day.

A bottle of Tanduay Rum...
Tommy also gave Bren  2 sets of extra guitar strings. In case you do not know, Bren and Tommy both share the love for music. Both of them can sing and play guitar very well  but Tommy is exceptional because he can write, arrange and play  original songs. Yes, he is really into music and a true musician.

Thank you again, Tommy and Ate Claire for making Bren's 40th birthday extra special. By the way,  the Tanduay left during the party that  night was  re-sealed and kept by Bren for you to consume on your next vacation here in the Philippines and we pray that it's going to be sooner for we miss all of you already :(
